about

This track was inspired by Marks and Spencers food adverts. It is a song written from the perspective of cake, and various other desserts, incorporating guitar, vocal percussion/improv, various kitchen utensils, an electric whisk, bubbling caramel, Clarinet (by Oliver Clark), bass thumb piano, and body percussion.

This is the 2nd track from the EP, Seed Bud Bloom, by Isolde, 2015.

lyrics

You've seen me around I know it's true,
I've been patiently waiting here for you,
Come now to me, don't be shy,
Just a little piece of my pecan pie.

You want me but you know you cannot touch,
you'll start with one bite then eat too much,
Once on the tongue is worth two upon the hips,
Oh but how you love to lick the sweetness from your lips.

No, no, oh! It's caramel,
No, no, no, no! Bananas and cream as well,
Enveloped in, a crushed biscuit base,
Making your heart skip and race.

You've been working too hard, now it's my turn,
To show how my creme brulle it burns,
Fantasize, holding me close,
Eat me in one go, oh no body has to know,

No, Oh! the push of the spoon,
No no no no, the devil is oozing through.
There's no escaping, the temptation,
Will leave your top button undone.

Not just any Turkish delight,
I will make everything feel alight,
Not just any, sweet taboo,
I'm here on a plate with my heart set on you,
Not just any profiterole,
I'm the one you didn't share the one that you stole,
Not just any steamed desert,
The proof is in the pudding, won't you show me where it hurts.

So what is it going to be,
You gunna pretend you don't want me,
Yeah whatever, I'll make you cry,
Craving for my cake in the middle of the night,
Yeah whatever, you'll be my slave.
Craving for my crumbs in the middle of the day,
Yeah whatever, you can run,
But you can't get enough of my hot crossed buns,
Yeah, yeah, try your best,
But you can't get enough of my lemon zest.
